gold & base metal cast ing grain
PRE-MIXED GOLD CASTING GRAIN
This casting grain for gas-melt systems is specially formulated with deoxidants
and additives to reduce firescale, lessen gas absorption and produce the best
possible results in a torch-melt casting process.
Yellow Gold Casting Grain
Pre-mixed casting grain produces excellent results.
Special additives help prevent firescale and ensure
good color. Enough deoxidant is added so you can
mix 50% casting scrap with new casting grain and
still get good results. Made in the USA.
Application:
For vacuum or centrifugal casting
Composition:
Gold, copper, silver, zinc and silicon

Clean Flow™ 14K Yellow Casting Grain
Additives make this grain more fluid and reduce its
tendency to absorb gas. Good flow properties make
casting fine detail easier and produce cleaner, less
porous, easier-to-finish castings. Made in the USA.

14K White Casting Grain
Nickel White
This formula has achieved MJSA’s coveted
Grade 1 rating. Special additives prevent firescale
and produce a whiteness similar to rhodium.
Mix up to 50% casting scrap with new grain with
good results. Made in Canada.

14K Pink Casting Grain
A high copper content causes this grain to firescale
easily. Flux well and use a reducing flame or inert
atmosphere. Induction melting is not recommended.
Textured finishes show the full red color best. S.G. is
13 grams. Very malleable. Made in the USA.

Weigh your wax model with sprue, allowing 10% for the button (multiply
the wax weight by 1.1) to get a total wax weight. Multiply your total wax
weight by the metal’s specific gravity. Example: For a 5g wax model,
multiply 5 by 1.1 for a total wax weight of 5.5g. For 14KY gold, multiply
by 13.07.

BASE METAL CASTING CHUNKS AND GRAIN
This casting material is ideal for a variety of casting needs. Cast custom pieces
for client approval before using costly precious metals. Cast sample lines
and plate them for travel and display. Made in the USA, except where noted.
Casting Chunks
Caster’s brass chunks (item A)
melt cleanly with reduced fumes
and better fluidity and produce
a bright color. Caster’s bronze
chunks (item B) are economical,
deliver the look of silver and
provide good hardness in
completed castings.
